[Every moment in life is one to cherish] Even though we may not realise it the moment, every little thing that happens with/to us is reason for why we have turned out to be the way we are. The moments that broke us, were part of for teaching us about struggle, and how to soldier on past hardships to the better things waiting ahead. As for those moment that light a smile on our faces, well we keep asking for those to keep coming, because of course nothings more blissful than euphoria.

"Imagine waking up on the last day of march and knowing that you worked your ass off for 30 days straight. Imagine looking in the mirror and grinning because you’re actually seeing results: your stomach is flatter and more toned, your legs are becoming shapely and ‘dat ass’ is looking rounder than ever. Imagine looking in that mirror and feeling proud that you ate clean for 30 days. Yes, you allowed yourself the occasional treat but in general you were fantastic and stuck to your healthy regime. Hell, you even enjoyed it. Imagine the feeling of pride you’ll have, and the feeling of confidence knowing that now you’ve done one month the next month and the months after that will be easier. Imagine trying on some old jeans and feeling the space in the waist-band because you are so much slimmer now. 30 days. 2 Litres water per day, 30 minutes working out a day. A clean diet. That’s all. Let’s make March our fittest month yet. Who’s with me?"

The world’s most viewed TED Talk. In GIFs!

I just can’t reblog this enough. If I filled up my tumblr with just this it wouldn’t be enough. Most of all I wish I could tell my immediate family about this because they perpetuate me growing out of creativity -.-

If you haven’t seen this TED Talk, I highly recommend it.

One of the things I’ve really focused on as a parent is making sure my kids know that making lots of mistakes is the best way to learn something new.  If you get something on the first try it might be exciting, but you haven’t really learned anything.  This is definitely something I was not taught as a child, unfortunately, which made me averse to trying anything new out of a fear of failure.  It’s taken me a long time to retrain my thoughts to not take errors as huge blows to my self-confidence.

My kids deserve better.  All kids deserve better.  ~JJ

Mistakes mean you are trying and that is never wrong.

and that’s why you don’t go around fixing people

and that’s why you don’t give up pieces of yourself to make someone else whole

We do this more than we think. Sometimes we reject those who have helped us the most. Other times, we help those who allow their egos to hide their humilities.
